The HCW is a 174 mile cycle route across the North of England from the West coast to the East coast from Ravensglass near Whitehaven, all the way back to Tynemouth, near to the route of Hadrians Wall. Making a guess based on the info from the RCW Guide shows the route is made up of the following terrains:
  Roads - both quiet, country roads and main roads - ?%
