The Transporter
- No one. We're unsupported!! Though a clownstop at Hartside would help, we'll likely supply-up at a village co-op some place.
Transport to Whitehaven
- Garry's dad will give us a lift over Thursday night. We need to meet at Garry's house between 1700 and 1800 on Thursday evening.
Accommodation
Day 0, Thursday 27th May 2010, WhitehavenTo Whitehaven, yet again. We will be starting sometime between 2200 and 0000. Day 1, Friday 28th May 2010, Whitehaven to Home140 miles, infinite big hills. Bike Choice
The route is going to take into account the more off-road elements of the C2C and for the sake of spare parts, it's Mountain Bike territory.
Date Choice
We're not staying overnight and to tackle the distance in the time available, we'll be setting off shortly after we arrive. According to the Lunar Calendar, the 21st and the 28th are good, bright moonlit nights.
Sunrise on the 28th May is at 04:46 with sunset at 21:18 giving us a lot of daylight. But the promise of riding through the countryside during a full moon with werewolves on the prowl is too much to miss.
